Winner of the AUDIENCE AWARD. We were honored and thrilled to be included at the Overlook Film Festival! The film was screened for a roaring audience followed by a Q+A w/director Andre Gower and producer Henry McComas.
We returned to the Prince Charles Cinema, where much of our documentary was actually filmed, for the UK’s leading genre film festival! We loved the fan reaction and cannot wait for the next chance to head across the pond.
The FilmWhen it was released in 1987, The Monster Squad was deemed a failure by critics and was, according to the box office, a film no one cared about. But over the last three decades, word of mouth has turned this sleeping hit into a cultural phenomenon.
WOLFMAN’S GOT NARDS explores the relationship a dedicated audience (including celebrities and filmmakers) has with The Monster Squad. This documentary takes an in-depth look into the film’s conception, response, cult status, and revival. Through interviews with the cast, crew, screenwriters, directors, academics and original reviewers as well as through never-before-seen footage, it turns the lens on an audience of self-proclaimed misfits who have kept The Monster Squad alive for more than thirty years.
“Wolfman’s Got Nards not only chronicles that surprise journey for the filmmakers and cast but it explores the fans’ point of view as well. In digging into the passion that fuels fanaticism, director André Gower and producer Henry McComas elevate Wolfman’s Got Nards from your basic Blu-ray special feature and into a heartfelt celebration of pop culture”

Producer/Henry BioHenry Darrow McComas was raised in Anchorage, Alaska where the nights were long and the days were cold. The frigid north ignited his passion for the macabre as the vast landscapes inspired McComas to learn the techniques and art of filmmaking. By high school, McComas was sharing his narrative skills with others through teaching and, at the same time, creating industry-standard shorts. He later enrolled in programs at King Career Center, the highly acclaimed New York Film Academy, the Art Institute of Seattle and the University of Washington. This eventually lead to the creation of McComas’s award-winning video production company, Crooked Lake Productions. His work includes features, numerous short films, and digital/TV series. McComas currently works at Pilgrim Media Group in Los Angeles, California.
